Sightings and Strandings
* According to the current understanding of distribution, Fin, Minke and Sei whales are not present in the Northern Indian ocean.
Carcass was first observed on the evening of 22nd April 2018 by fishermen. Stranding reported on the 23rd of April 2018. Carcass condition: Code 4. Total length: 2.41 m. Skin and tooth samples collected. Sex could not be determined. Species confirmation: tooth count and morphological characters.Dorsal fin was bent under the body.
