We were conducting a survey for Humpback dolphins and encountered at least 20 porpoises in this region. They were scattered in an area of ~100x100 sq m and were foraging. Few mother calf pairs were spotted but several sea gulls were seen trying to catch h fish coming to the surface.

The sighting was barely 1 km off the coast where the max water depth was likely ~10-15 meters. The sea surface was calm as there was no wind. There were no boats, dolphins, or any other form of disturbance. However we spotted humpback dolphins ~1km away as we continued the survey.

A large super pod of Spinner dolphins were spotted by the dive boat crew in the morning around 10am. The super pod was scattered in the area and a group came towards to the dive boat and was bow riding. There were young animals and also quite a few leaps with spins.

A protruding fin was observed at about 500m away from the ship. The ship would be about 2-3km away from the shore.
The swim was consistent and slow with the fin staying above water for about 30 seconds at times. Solitary old individual. Moved underneath after about a minute of staying on the surface watching. Size would be like a medium sized dolphin. Was gray and scarred. Picture taken from within 500m of sighting, hence fin looks very big.
